Community Rules

The standards that make New Chapter a place worth being

New Chapter is built for adults who've lived a little and deserve genuine connection. Our community works because members treat each other with the respect they'd want for themselves. These rules aren't bureaucracy — they're how we keep this place worth coming back to.

The Rules

💛

Be Genuine

Your profile should represent you — your real age, real photos, real intentions. No catfishing, no fake personas, no exaggerated credentials. People are here for authentic connection, and they deserve honesty.

🤝

Be Respectful

Treat every member with dignity. Rejection happens — handle it graciously. A "no thank you" or a message left unread is not an invitation for retaliation or repeated contact. No means no.

🚫

No Harassment or Hate

Harassment, threats, hate speech, and discrimination based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or any other characteristic are not tolerated. This results in immediate account termination.

📸

Real Photos Only

Your profile photos must be recent, unedited photos of you (not heavily filtered). Group photos may not be your primary photo. No nudity. No photos of other people without their consent. Photo verification is encouraged to build trust.

🛍️

No Solicitation or Spam

New Chapter is not a marketplace. No promoting businesses, products, services, or financial schemes. No copying and pasting generic messages to dozens of people. No requesting money, gifts, or financial assistance — ever. Asking for money is grounds for an immediate ban.

🔒

Protect Each Other's Privacy

Do not share, screenshot, or redistribute other members' photos, messages, or personal information outside of New Chapter without their explicit consent. What happens in private messages stays private.

🔞

Adults Only

You must be 18 or older to use New Chapter. Do not upload photos of minors. Do not engage with anyone you suspect may be underage — report them immediately.

🤖

No Bots or Automation

Automated messaging, bot accounts, and any form of programmatic interaction with other members are prohibited. Every person on New Chapter deserves to know they're talking to a real human.

Photo Verification

We encourage all members to get verified. Verified members have completed a live selfie check that confirms their profile photos are real and current. You'll recognise them by the blue ✓ badge on their profile.

Verification is optional but strongly recommended — it increases your matches and helps everyone feel safer. Verified members see higher match rates because trust goes both ways.

To get verified, visit your profile page and click "Get Verified."

Reporting & Blocking

How to Report a Member

If someone violates these rules, report them directly from their profile or via any conversation. Tap the "⋯" menu on their profile and select "Report." Every report is reviewed by our moderation team within 24–48 hours.

How to Block a Member

Blocking prevents someone from seeing your profile, liking you, or messaging you. There's no notification — they simply won't find you. You can block from any profile view or conversation.

What Happens After You Report

For urgent safety concerns, email us directly: safety@newchapter.love

Consequences for Violations

We apply a graduated approach — minor first offences get a warning, serious violations get an immediate ban:

1
Warning
Minor first offence (inappropriate message, incomplete profile). You'll be notified and the content removed.
2
Restriction
Repeated minor violations or a moderate offence. Messaging or matching features temporarily restricted.
3
Suspension
Serious or repeated offence. Account suspended for a defined period. No refund of unused subscription time.
Permanent Ban
Harassment, hate speech, catfishing, money solicitation, explicit illegal content, or ban evasion. Immediate and permanent. No appeal.

Staying Safe

Most people on New Chapter are genuine and wonderful. Still, take sensible precautions — especially when moving a connection offline.

📞

Video Call First

Before meeting in person, do a video call. It confirms you're talking to who you think you're talking to.

Meet in Public

First meetings should always be in busy public places — a café, restaurant, or park. Never at a private address.

👋

Tell Someone

Let a friend or family member know where you're going, who you're meeting, and when you'll check in.

🚗

Your Own Transport

Arrange your own way to and from first dates. Don't rely on someone you've just met for a lift.

💳

Never Send Money

If someone you haven't met in person asks for money — regardless of the reason — it's a scam. Report immediately.

🔐

Protect Your Details

Don't share your home address, workplace, financial information, or ID documents with someone you don't fully trust.

If you ever feel unsafe or have an urgent concern, contact our safety team: safety@newchapter.love
